Done With Today's Wordle?  Wordle gives you one puzzle a day, but other word games let you play as much as you want.

Today's Wordle won't last forever. Whether you finished the puzzle (maybe while being judged by WordleBot) or want to add more variety to your word-game repertoire, there are a bunch of games that can satisfy those puzzle cravings.

You've likely already learned some tips, tricks, and lessons from the popular word game, so why not apply them to other puzzles, too? After all, Wordle isn't the only game in town.

What is Wordle? On the face of it, Wordle is a simple word game. You have six chances and you have to guess a five-letter word. There are no hints. You start off with a random five-letter common word. The boxes change their color after you hit enter.

Using the colored boxes, you enter the next word and keep on doing so until you reach the final word (or rather Wordle of the day).

Wordle asks players to figure out a five-letter word in six or fewer guesses. After each guess, the game shows gray blocks for wrong letters, yellow blocks for right letters in the wrong spot, and green blocks for right letters in the correct spot.

It's addictive, but after you solve the daily puzzle or use up all your guesses, you have to wait until the next day to play again (unless you check out Wordle Archive).

Best Words To Start With on Wordle

Ever since Wordle started getting big in Dec. 2021, players have taken shots at a five-letter puzzle with the goal of maintaining the fastest solves and a continuous correct word streak.

Everyone has their own strategy for tackling the daily challenge. Here’s what we consider to be the best words to start with on Wordle. The main strategy to follow is that while there are certain words with double letters, keep your initial guesses to eliminate five individual letters.

The plate is a good first pick because you are checking on two vowels while also seeing if the letter T is involved. Wears Once again, it’s always a good idea to get a read on vowels. With that, you can’t go wrong without figuring out if there might be an S.

You get a solid early step ahead if you get that ending S as a green square. Audio If you really want to go all-in on figuring out vowels, it can’t hurt to check four in one word on your first try. Fairy This one might make you wonder if it should make the cut, but think about it.

You get the two (sometimes three) vowels and the very common R. Plus, on the chance Y is in the word, you have that very helpful tidbit in your back pocket right away. Sometimes the best guesses involve a little bit of risk. South This one belongs here for just about the same reason as ‘Wears’ does.

You get the two vowels and you get to check both the S and the T, this is a very safe bet you’ll get something out of it. Similar to what was said above, it never hurts to know about an S early on. There you have it, everyone, these are the best words to start with on Wordle.

It’s been about three months since Wordle was purchased by the New York Times Company and the game is still going strong. Hopefully, the words above will bring you some luck.

What is Wordlebot?

WordleBot Shows How to Improve Your Wordle Stats. The New York Times has released a new app called WordleBot, which analyzes your Wordle answers and tells you how to do better.

The New York Times revealed a new Wordle analysis tool called WordleBot, which analyzes a player's answers based on both skill and luck and tells players what they could have done to solve the puzzle in fewer tries.

WordleBot uses an algorithm to solve each day's Wordle and shows players the algorithm's guesses as well as an explanation as to why it picked that word. The tool is easy to use – players simply visit the WordleBot page using the same device/browser that they used to play Wordle.

Alternatively, WordleBot can also use a screenshot of any Wordle, even one solved months ago, and analyze that instead.

In a brief explanation as to why they created the tool, WordleBot makers Josh Katz and Matthew Conlan explained that it started as a way to come up with the best starting word.

"Months ago, before The New York Times bought Wordle, we, like many others, began wondering about the best starting word," the pair wrote. "It seemed like a straightforward mathematical question — yet every person who approached the problem seemed to come up with a different answer.

WordleBot started as an attempt to settle this question once and for all. But along the way we realized that (a) the answer was more complicated than it seemed; and that (b) we were more interested in how closely our guesses matched those that would be chosen by a machine designed to solve Wordles.

" For the record, WordleBot uses CRANE as its starting word in standard mode and DEALT when playing in hard mode. Katz and Conlan said that their hope is that using WordleBot will cause players to use Wordle more analytically, which in turn will help players improve in the long run.

They also noted that WordleBot might also help serve as a tiebreaker of sorts for those competing in Wordle with their friends. "If a Wordle took you five turns but you answered more efficiently than your friends, WordleBot may provide some bragging rights," Katz and Conlan wrote.

"If you did everything right and were simply unlucky, it will tell you that too." WordleBot is available now on the New York Times' website.

Why has Wordle become so popular?

Even though the developer Josh Wardle released the game in October 2021, it only became popular in 2022.

It became a trend on social media to share the result daily and brag about how quickly one has solved the game. One of the reasons why Wordle became famous is also that the game refreshes only once in 24 hours.

The game, sort of, compels a user to open it every day instead of just giving puzzles one after the other. It's a refreshing activity that takes our minds off worldly distractions.

Soon after the game became popular, Wordle was bought by New York Times in January 2022.
